Application of LUSTRES is possibly the most important factor in achieving the best results. The more richly coloured LUSTRES require a fairly thin coat while other LUSTRES (particularly the metallic LUSTRES) require an even thinner coat. If LUSTRES are applied to thickly they may give rise to problems I.e. dull finish, flaking off etc. LUSTRES are best fired in a kiln which is well ventilated until al the lustre gases have been burnt away - this happens lower down the temperature range, otherwise the final finish may be affected.

One of the major uses is as a brush cleaner.It is probably the only thing that will genuinely remove all traces of the Lustre from the brush, with the added bonus of conditioning the bristles,thus making the brush like new.
