Combining the latest weight technology with an easy to operate method of weighing. The 5500 scales will accurately weigh up to FIVE kilos in 2 gram increments. Both models being identical except for the weighing capacities, have a Digital readout , battery low indication and more importantly the facility to 'tare' I.e. to weigh a container empty then be reset to zero, so that only the contents are weighed. This facility can be used, obviously only to the maximum weight of the particular scale in use, as an 'add-to' facility. For example, if two ingredients require to be put in the same container, firstly weigh container empty the reset to zero, weigh first ingredient into container, then again reset to zero, then add second ingredient and weigh to required amount.

They have as the name suggests three beams that the slide weights move along and you simply read off the weight applied up to 600 Grams.
